"The Gratz"

Once upon an evening clear
To Midknight Borzoi did appear A
puppy as special as the stars at night, He
seemed so perfect, he shined so bright.
With more personality than I'd
ever seen, This pup was blessed, a breeder's dream. An
Irish Rogue with a coat of black, In his
own happy way he led the pack.
His name was Midknight Mmardi
Gras, "The Gratz" to those he knew. Just
ten years shy, my handsome tri, Eight
months and I'm still blue.
Up North and down South, both
East and West, We won and we lost, but we gave it our
best, 'Til a championship in time was his, But in
my heart he always was, he still is.
My Favorite of Favorites was this
fun guy, "Too soon" I cried, for him to die. So
Farewell Mmardi Gras, sleep tight my old friend, Until
that time when we meet again.
Then a colorful rainbow will lead
me to you, So while you wait for me, do what angel dogs
do, Go run through clouds, find a bunny to
chase, And hang out with old friends--Max, Dragon, and
Ace.
I'll walk the trails and I'll
think of you, Tell everyone there that I miss them
too. And when the day comes and we meet
again, Then I'll be at peace with my best
friends. |
