"Rainey"
Ch.Yare Midknight Hurricane,
JC
| Rainey was bred by Eugene Hill of Yare (pronounced Yare-A) Borzoi. I
took two puppies out of that breeding sired by my Mmardi Gras. They are Ch.Yare
Midknight Hurricane, JC and Yare Midknight Hawksdale, JC.
When Gene bred this litter, he decided to have a "theme" for the names of
the pups. The theme was Clipper Ships. I have to admit that, at first, I
was not too excited about it, but I went to the library and checked out a
book on Clipper Ships to look for names. The book was so interesting that
rather than just looking for names, I read the entire book! Sometimes we
learn even when we are not planning on it. |

| As it turns out, Rainey was definitely a
Hurricane. He had energy that never
seems to quit. In the show ring, he was a handful. At the field trial starting
line, he would jump and flip and bark at the plastic bag like some "wild
thing". At home, he would retrieve toys and pick them up at a run. Rainey
was not your typical borzoi, but I like a dog with high
energy.
He was a wonderful companion. Rainey, with his exuberant personality, has
left a large void here at Midknight.
